VenEsperanza is a multipurpose emergency response program that works to meet the urgent humanitarian needs of the most vulnerable people affected by the Venezuela migration situation, includingVenezuelan migrants, Colombian returnees and host communities. In 2019, we formed a partnership with the organizations International Rescue Committee, Mercy Corps, Save the Children and World Vision in support of the Colombian National Government's humanitarian response.
We are supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID)/Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance (BHA).
We have worked in the departments of Antioquia, Cundinamarca, Norte de Santander, Bolívar, Cesar, Arauca, Bogotá D.C., La Guajira, Atlántico and Santander to meet the immediate needs of vulnerable people, affected by the Venezuelan migration crisis, by providing multipurpose cash assistance for access to shelter, water, sanitation, food and non-food items, while being able to reduce their protection risks.

This program is designed to assist migrants and refugees in a condition of severe vulnerability. We have screening tools and procedures that allow us to focus our support on the people who need it most. If you wish to contact any of the organizations that are part of this alliance, you can consult the communication channels shared on this page.
The services of the organizations that are part of VenEsperanza (International Rescue Committee, Mercy Corps, Save the Children Colombia and World Vision), are completely free of charge. Any request for money or favors to access humanitarian aid, or to be included in referral lists, is considered fraud. People can avoid being victims of fraud if they corroborate the information they receive through our official sources, such as verified social networks, web pages or telephone lines that are shared on this page.
At Mercy Corps we have a maximum of 3 months, to contact you after you have completed the survey. If after this time we have not contacted you, it is because you were not selected for the program. Most participants are notified within two weeks, however, this can take up to three months in rare circumstances.
The dates may vary from month to month. Please wait for our team to contact you by phone or text message to confirm the information.
For this program, assistance is typically delivered once a month for a maximum period of 6 months. Because the program has limited resources and seeks to help as many people as possible, it is only possible to receive assistance once, and our system only allows one application per family.
No. Due to the organization's policies, if a person was not selected the first time, he/she will not be able to participate in this program.
You may participate in different programs offering different services with different organizations at the same time, however,It is not possible, to receive the same multi-purpose aid from two or more organizations at the same time.
We have systems in place that tell us if a person is already registered and/or receiving the same type of assistance from another organization, thus ensuring that we do not support the same people.
In the event that we confirm that the person is already registered with another organization, the humanitarian aid for the person and his/her family will only be delivered by one of the organizations.
